Micron Technology has unveiled two new products under the Crucial Pro series – the Crucial DDR5 Pro: Overclocking Edition memory modules and the world’s fastest consumer Solid State Drive (SSD), Crucial T705, compliant with PCIe 5.0 standard.
Critical T705 SSDs with PCIe 5.0 standard are available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB models. The reported sequential reading speed for these new drives is up to 14,500 MB/s, and the sequential writing speed is up to 12,700 MB/s. Their performance in random reading and writing operations reaches 1.55 million and 1.8 million IOPS respectively, with the fastest available in the 2 TB version.
The new SSDs utilize 232-layer TLC NAND flash memory chips from Micron itself, clocked at 2400 MT/s. They are built on the Phison E26 controller and include LPDDR4 memory cache. Micron gives a five-year warranty for all SSD models.
The Crucial T705 SSDs will be offered both with and without an included black aluminum cooling radiator. A Special 2TB version with a white radiator will also be available. Pre-orders for these new products will begin on March 12, with prices starting from $239.99 for the 1TB version without a radiator, and going up to $729.99 for the 4TB version with a radiator.
The Crucial DDR5 Pro: Overclocking Edition memory modules feature CL36-38-38-80 latencies, which are 25% lower than previously released modules from the Crucial DDR5 Pro Memory Plug and Play Edition. The new memory modules operate at 1.35 V, with an effective frequency of 6000 MHz, and are compatible with overclocking profiles for Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO.
The Crucial DDR5 Pro: Overclocking Edition memory will be available as dual-channel kits, consisting of two DDR5-6000 modules with a capacity of 16 GB each (total volume of 32 GB), and also as two-module kits with 24 GB each (total volume of 48 GB). The 32 GB kits will be available starting from February 27, while the 48 GB ones will be launched later this year.
