Fiberlink Communications Corp., a leading innovator and trusted enterprise partner for secure mobile workforce solutions, and Connexion by Boeing, a business unit of The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA), today announced an agreement to deliver secure, in-flight access solutions to Fiberlink’s enterprise customers. Corporate IT managers will soon be able to deploy in-flight Wi-Fi as part of a comprehensive mobile workforce strategy for the approximately 600,000 mobile workers that use Fiberlink’s access software.
Fiberlink helps enterprise IT organization deliver reliable and flexible access for their mobile workforce as they move from hotel rooms and public hot spots to airports, and with this new agreement, to aircraft. Fiberlink’s customers can now take advantage of its mobile access software while working in-flight, and at the same time, their IT departments can maintain complete control over the security threats, compliance issues and spiraling access costs associated with mobile computing. This new service complements Fiberlink’s industry-leading “All Access” mobile data plan with additional enterprise-class access and security at 35,000 feet.
“Enterprise travelers want a proven and secure method to connect to real-time high-speed Internet-based services that are critical for doing business in a global environment,” said Connexion by Boeing Vice President of Marketing and Direct Sales David Friedman. “The Connexion by Boeing agreement with Fiberlink will help ensure that the sky is not the limit for Fiberlink customers. Business travelers rely on their corporate IT organization to equip them with advanced connectivity capabilities and through our relationship with Fiberlink we will be a critical part of that solution.”
“Fiberlink brings together diverse access technologies and security measures into a unified mobile workforce solution — managed and delivered by a single provider,” said William Wagner, chief marketing officer for Fiberlink. “Our work with Connexion by Boeing allows us to add in-flight Wi-Fi networks — a huge value for corporate travelers — to our long list of current mobile solutions. Fiberlink’s broad portfolio of transport methods is not only one of the most comprehensive in the industry, but it’s the most secure as well.”
