Spanish insider eXtas1s, who previously predicted release dates for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II and Redfall, hinted at two surprises Microsoft will reveal during Xbox Games Showcase 2024.
According to eXtas1s, a game showcased at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 will be launched immediately after the show. It’s reportedly a highly anticipated project being developed by Xbox Studios.
Examples of games expected at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 include: cooperative action game Towerborne to be released in 2024, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 expected in November, Starfield: Shattered Space in September, among others.
The insider confirmed he knows which game it would be but chose not to reveal it to avoid spoiling one of the show’s main surprises. Xbox has prior experience with surprise launches, though those didn’t end well for the developers in previous occasions.
Based on reactions on ResetEra and Reddit, top candidates for the surprise release are Towerborne and an unannounced Gears of War remastered collection. The former is currently undergoing a closed ‘beta’, while rumors about the latter have been circulating for several years.
In a recent video, eXtas1s also mentioned Microsoft’s plans to unveil the first teaser of a portable Xbox console at Xbox Games Showcase 2024, a topic which Xbox Gaming CEO Phil Spencer recently brought up once again.
The Xbox Games Showcase 2024 will commence on June 9 at 8 PM Moscow time. Rumors suggest that Doom: The Dark Ages and Gears 6 will be announced during the show, with release dates for Avowed and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle also to be disclosed.
