As per recent insider information, 2K, the video games publisher, is set to announce the newest game from one of their most significant series at the forthcoming Summer Game Fest 2024.
Among the numerous successful games in 2K’s catalogue, fan speculation placed potential announcements for Borderlands 4, BioShock 4 or Mafia 4. The upcoming Mafia game seemed the most likely announcement given its confirmed development and rumors of an imminent reveal.
The future BioShock has reportedly encountered production obstacles, whereas the fourth installment of Borderlands lacks official confirmation but has shown hints towards its existence.
Insider Kurakasis, who had previously circulated rumors about the new Mafia, recently alerted fans of the crime franchise to some disappointing news in an update.

Kurakasis speculated that the formal announcement of Borderlands 4 might occur before the Summer Game Fest 2024, with a full presentation planned for the show. However, he did not provide any evidence to substantiate this claim.
The Summer Game Fest 2024 is set to commence on June 8th at 12:00 AM Moscow time and will last two hours. Apart from the Borderlands 4 announcement, other showcases include Metaphor: ReFantazio, Monster Hunter Wilds, DLC for Alan Wake II, a new game from the creator of Choo-Choo Charles, Slitterhead and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
