Five years since the release of Anno 1800, Ubisoft, alongside Ubisoft Blue Byte, who are renowned creators of economic strategy games, have announced the newest edition to the franchise. The official unveiling took place during the Ubisoft Forward presentation in June.
Adding to their celebrated series, the upcoming Anno 117: Pax Romana will enable players to decide the future of the Roman Empire by managing its territories in the year 117.
Players assuming the role of the Roman governor will explore the provinces of Latium and Albion, managing every facet of their empire, from the construction of aqueducts to the organization of naval battles in the Colosseum.
The governor’s decisions will impact all the province’s inhabitants. Players of Anno 117: Pax Romana can choose to expand the Roman culture or adopt Celtic traditions.
“Which path will you choose? Will you develop the economy or subjugate your neighbors? Will you spur a rebellion or unify disparate peoples? You decide the price of peace”, touted the creators of Anno 117: Pax Romana.
Ubisoft has asserted that the creators of Anno 117: Pax Romana are striving to deliver the most meticulous simulation in history. The game’s development is led by Ubisoft Mainz, a subsidiary of Blue Byte.
The much-anticipated release of Anno 117: Pax Romana is set for 2025. It will be available on PC via Ubisoft Connect and Epic Games Store, as well as on PS5, Xbox Series X, and S. It will also feature on Amazon’s cloud service, Luna. So far, only a live-action trailer has been showcased at Ubisoft Forward.
