Copilot’s Broad Scope and Adaptability

The Copilot has the prowess to extract and analyze data not just from text documents such as Word and formatted text, but also from presentations, spreadsheets, HTML pages, PDF files and more. Furthermore, users can ask the AI assistant to customize the summarized content in accordance with their current requirements. This can range from incorporating solely key information to extracting details from a specific section of a document.

Microsoft’s AI Integration Plan

Back in the Fall, Microsoft announced plans to integrate AI-based algorithms into its data storage cloud to facilitate and expedite file searches, draft summarizing reports, and document organization. For instance, users can request Copilot to find their tax documents or to extract main ideas from a work presentation. Also, this AI assistant can process natural language requests and answer very specific queries about the content of user files. Additionally, Copilot will be handy in creating diagrams, tables, and lists based on data in OneDrive-stored documents.

Accessible in Upcoming Month

According to current data, Microsoft will start to roll out Copilot access to OneDrive users later this month, with wider availability anticipated by April. The AI assistant will be accessible via the web version of OneDrive and through file viewing tools in Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
