More Tactics, First-Person View, and Provocative Missions: Reliable Insider Reveals New Details of the Next Ghost Recon Game

Project Over: Tom Henderson Reveals New Details About Next Installment in Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Series

The reliable insider Tom Henderson has shed light on the next main part of Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon series, known as Project Over (Ovr), via his Insider Gaming portal.

Positioning of New Ghost Recon

According to Henderson’s sources, the next Ghost Recon will be a tactical first-person shooter emphasizing squad management. It leans towards the military simulators, such as Squad and Ready or Not.

Inspiration and Controversial Elements

Project Over’s developers are allegedly inspired by popular military shooters, namely Battlefield and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s subtitle series. The upcoming Ghost Recon will include dark and potentially controversial, ambiguous segments.

One such example provided by Henderson involved an episode where the player’s squad nearly shot a man holding a baby. Initially, the “Ghosts” mistook the infant for a bomb, only realizing their error at the last moment.

Storyline and Visuals

The storyline of Project Over revolves around a conflict in the fictional Southeast Nation of Nayman, where hundreds of thousands have died due to war crimes. The “Ghosts” will carry out secret missions, including searching for a traitor.

Henderson, who has seen the gameplay, lauds the game’s visual component as a significant leap forward from its predecessors. The graphics of the new Ghost Recon will remind players of Ready or Not.

Release Schedule

While the release of Project Over was expected before April, the development process has been drawn out. Henderson’s current prediction notes that the game is slated for a 2025−2026 release. Ubisoft has yet to officially announce the project.
