NVIDIA Releases Driver with Nightingale Support

NVIDIA has launched a new graphic driver package, GeForce Game Ready 551.61 WHQL. This update includes support for the neovictorian survival simulator Nightingale, which utilizes DLSS 3 image scaling technology.

Faults fixed:

  • Stability issues in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege with Vulkan API have been resolved;
  • Problems of tonal rendering while using the RTX Video HDR with custom HDR brightness settings in Windows have been fixed;
  • Incorrect display of black color levels during SDR video playback and having Windows HDR mode enabled in Chrome and Edge browsers have been dealt with;
  • The issue of resetting saved NVIDIA Freestyle filter settings after exiting the game has been rectified;
  • The problem with the initialization of the viewport in Adobe Substance 3D has been tackled;
  • The error preventing the launch of Vulkan version of Substance Painter in Adobe Substance 3D has been fixed.

Known issues:

  • Fortunately, there are only two persisting issues: Netflix video display problems in Edge browser – users are recommended to use the Netflix app for Windows as a workaround solution;
  • Random PC freezes with GeForce GTX 10 and RTX 20 series graphics cards when Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling and NVIDIA SLI are enabled simultaneously.

The GeForce Game Ready 551.61 WHQL driver can be downloaded via the GeForce Experience app or directly from the official NVIDIA website.

Along with the release of this new driver, NVIDIA has begun revamping its entire software architecture aimed at merging the GeForce Experience and NVIDIA Control Panel into one unified application – NVIDIA App. Currently, the NVIDIA App is in its beta-testing phase and needs to be downloaded separately from the main driver. However, in the future, it will be incorporated within the GeForce driver itself.
