Offworld Industries, a Canadian developer, has announced the release date and target platforms for the final version of the sci-fi co-op shooter game Starship Troopers: Extermination, inspired by the “Starship Troopers” universe.
It is worth noting that the early access of Starship Troopers: Extermination began on May 17, 2023. Since then, the game has received six major content updates and has undergone a price increase from 880 rubles ($25) to 1100 rubles ($30) on Steam.
The final version of Starship Troopers: Extermination is set to launch on October 11 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S at a price tag of $50, with the ruble equivalent yet to be specified.
Inclusion of new enemies, environments and a single-player mode, in which players follow the orders of General John Rico, portrayed by Casper Van Dien, a star from the “Starship Troopers” movie, can be expected in version 1.0.
In the storyline campaign, users, in collaboration with three original NPC allies, will be challenged to complete 25 missions and a number of unique PvE combat scenarios. A “second chapter” release is promised post the 1.0 release.
Moreover, by the end of June, Starship Troopers: Extermination will receive an 0.8 update, which will include:
- a location on the gaseous planet X-11, combining open and closed spaces;
- a persistent carnage system – dead bugs will no longer disappear and will continue to leave blood trails;
- new mechanics – bugs will feature armor and vulnerable points.
Starship Troopers: Extermination offers players the chance to engage in large-scale battles against hordes of insect-like aliens. Players must collaborate, complete tasks, build and defend their base, and then successfully evacuate.
