Warhammer 40,000 Games Announce New Additions
The Warhammer Skulls Showcase promised new announcements for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader and the old-school shooter game, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun. The presentation delivered with the introduction of expansions for both games.
Owlcat Games unveiled the release date for Void Shadows, the first of two downloadable content (DLC) for Rogue Trader. Despite earlier promises of a June release, it will launch on August 8 on Steam, GOG, EGS, as well as PS5, and Xbox Series X and S. It is included in the season pass.
The Void Shadows will introduce players to the ancient Death Cult, allow them to recruit its assassin, Cibella, and unravel dark secrets hidden in the corners of their voidship. As assured by the developers, gamers can anticipate thrilling, stunning, and ominous adventures.
Alongside the Void Shadows announcement, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader developers shared that they have achieved full compatibility with the Steam Deck. The RPG’s functionality was confirmed by Valve itself, evidenced by a “green checkmark” assessment.
First DLC for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Announced
In addition, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, the retro-style shooter from Focus Entertainment and Auroch Digital, is soon to receive its first DLC — Forges of Corruption.
The add-on will route players back to the world-forge of Graia to track down heretics hiding in the Demonic forge. It promises a five-level campaign featuring unique enemies and two types of new weapon (the multimelta and missile system).
Forges of Corruption is set to launch on June 18 on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and will later reach the Nintendo Switch. With this expansion, the game will also introduce a free horde mode.
