Sony is reportedly preparing to launch the much-anticipated action-adventure game, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, by Naughty Dog, on platforms other than PlayStation. This follows false rumors of the game’s unveiling slated for April.
Silknigth first reported that the PC version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered was slated for an April presentation, however multiple people, including Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, discredited this prediction, and Silknigth has since deleted his X account.
Now, reliable insider billbil-kun from Dealabs, who accurately predicted the recent announcement of the PC version of God of War Ragnarok (due for release on September 19), has shared information on The Last of Us Part II for PC.
According to billbil-kun, the PC version of The Last of Us Part II has been in development since at least 2021, with production reported to comprise seven months starting from November last year. The reason behind the delay is not known to billbil-kun, but it is conjectured that the game may launch concurrently with the second season of The Last of Us TV series in 2025.
For instance, The Last of Us Part I PC version was released shortly after the conclusion of the first season of the TV show.
The Last of Us Part II initially debuted on PS4 in June 2020, which earned positive reviews from critics. It was subsequently remastered for PS5 in January 2024. By 2022, the game had sold over 10 million copies.
The remastered version of The Last of Us Part II offers slightly improved graphics, quicker loading times, developer commentary, bonus levels, the No Return roguelike mode, a free-play guitar mode, and optional cosmetic content.
