Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb was correct in his prediction of a Sony gaming presentation set to occur in May. Instead of the massive PlayStation Showcase as expected, Sony is preparing to host a State of Play event.
Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that the new episode of State of Play is scheduled for the night of May 30th to 31st, and will start at 1:00 am Moscow time. Viewers can follow the show on YouTube and Twitch.
The May edition of State of Play will run for half an hour and will feature updates on 14 games for the PS5 and PS VR2. Teams from PlayStation Studios, Sony’s internal departments, will also present their projects.
According to Grubb, Sony should announce the release date of the Silent Hill 2 remake at the May gaming presentation. This could also potentially occur at the Silent Hill Transmission show, which will follow State of Play.
Recent rumors suggest the announcement of a PC version of God of War Ragnarok, a new game from Team Asobi (Astro Bot) and the Lego Horizon Adventures, and a forthcoming demonstration of the multiplayer shooter Concord.
The previous full edition of State of Play took place on the night of February 1 of the current year. That event unveiled awaited announcements and trailers, much of which leaked online prior to the show.
The last State of Play presented a remake of the horror game Until Dawn, Metro Awakening, and Death Stranding 2, the next game by Hideo Kojima. The release date for Stellar Blade was also announced, along with trailers for Judas, Silent Hill 2, and DS2.
