Steven Kaule, also known as Skaule, acclaimed German game developer along with Whitethorn Games publishing house made an official announcement about the release date of its culinary metroidvania-style game, Magical Delicacy. The announcement was paired with a new game trailer.
Magical Delicacy centers around the character named Flora who arrives in the city of Grat with hopes of fulfilling her dream of becoming a real witch. Grat, a city built on cliffs, acts as the stage for a confrontation between two feuding covens.
As players, you’re invited to open your own shop in Grat, cook magical delicacies, interact with the city’s residents and gather information about the witching world.
The gameplay of Magical Delicacy includes selecting ingredients with varying effects, following a recipe or improvising using creativity. As your business progresses, it would be essential to refurbish, decorate and upgrade your shop.
Besides cooking, the game comprises platforming elements where gamers can climb bell towers and old fortress walls. Over time, players will be able to enhance their mobility skills and discover alternative routes.
Magical Delicacy promises to deliver enchanting pixel-art, colorful characters, a deeply structured cooking system, and an ample amount of accessibility settings. However, support for the Russian language hasn’t been announced yet.
Magical Delicacy will be made available for purchase on July 16 on platforms like PC (Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X, S and Nintendo Switch. On the same day, the game will be included in the Game Pass subscription. A free demo version is currently available on the Valve service.
