“Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown”, the Metroidvania game by Ubisoft that debuted in early 2024, will launch on the Steam platform, pursuing the release of the roguelite action game, The Rogue Prince of Persia. The game is set to be released on August 8th, a mere seven months after it premiered on other platforms.
The announcement was highlighted by a 35-second trailer. The product page for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has already appeared on Steam. The game is confirmed to support Russian language translation and unlike The Rogue Prince of Persia, it will require a Ubisoft Connect connection.
The Steam version of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be released with all updates already available: Warrior’s Path (modes dedicated to speed runners and those with permanent death), Boss Attack (a “Boss Marathon” mode), and Divine Trials (new challenges).
The plot of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown revolves around the kidnapping of Persian Prince Hassan. Seven of his guardians from the “Immortals” clan embark on a rescue mission on Mount Kaf, with players stepping into the shoes of Sargon, a master swordsman.
Players will be tasked with navigating an expansive non-linear world filled with secrets, avoiding traps, unlocking new time and space management skills, and battling mythical creatures.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was first released for the PC on Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, S, and Nintendo Switch on January 18. The game was highly rated, but is rumored to have had a slow start. We expect the Mask of Darkness addon to be released in September.
