Weekly Steam Chart: Role-Playing Action Game Black Myth: Wukong and First-Person Shooter Game Bodycam Break into the Top 5

According to SteamDB, for the week of June 4 to 11, Black Myth: Wukong dominated the revenue generation rankings on Steam, surpassing previous leader Steam Deck, which dropped to third.

Black Myth: Wukong, an action RPG inspired by the classic ‘Journey to the West’, developed by the Chinese studio Game Science, took the top spot in both the paid and overall charts. The game made its first chart appearance after pre-orders were launched during the Summer Game Fest 2024, which also premiered a new trailer for the game (YouTube). Release is set for August 20 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and PlayStation 5, with the Xbox Series X and S versions indefinitely delayed due to optimization issues.

Other Noteworthy Developments:

  • The best newcomer (fourth place) was The Final Shape, a large expansion for the online shooter Destiny 2, which received a rating of 79 % based on 4,1k reviews;
  • Coming in as the second most popular new release (fifth place) is the shooter game Bodycam from Reissad Studio, which launched in early access. The game received 71 % positive reviews (out of a total 8.6k), and reached a peak of 16 457 concurrent players;

  • Pre-orders for Elden Ring’s upcoming expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, set to launch on June 21, boosted the RPG action game up to the second slot. The game’s add-on pre-order also climbed to sixth;
  • Street Fighter 6 moved from 54th to 7th place thanks to a 50% discount and the debut of the second-year content subscription. Diablo IV moved up to 8th place from 12th due to the expansion Vessel of Hatred’s pre-order launch;
  • The release of Dead by Daylight’s new chapter, featuring the Dungeons & Dragons universe, propelled the asymmetrical horror game back into the top 10 (9th position);
  • Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game by Illfonic, another asymmetrical horror game and the third-best newcomer, reached 38th place with 78 % positive reviews (out of 2.2k) and a peak of 4333 players;
  • And lastly, the pre-order for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, an enhanced RPG, entered the chart at 45th.
