Riot Games has unveiled the final name of their conditional-free fighting game, previously known as “Project L”, and outlined their plans for promoting the game in 2024.
From now on, “Project L” transitions to 2XKO (pronounced as spelled), a name in English that can be interpreted as “double knockout”.
The final name announcement for “Project L” was accompanied by a gameplay trailer that showed different League of Legends champions, including Ahri, Yasuo, Darius, Ekko, and Illaoi, battling each other.
Looking at the comments under the game footage, the majority of fans preferred the code name 2XKO over the finalized one. “Who let Elon Musk choose the name?”—rder2793 wonders.
Regarding promotion plans, there will be more news about 2XKO during the year, and players will get the chance to try the fighting game at home closer to the end of 2024.
In addition, Riot Games will start bringing the 2XKO demo version to more new events. The next one will be EVO Japan, which will be held from April 27 to April 29 in Japan.
2XKO is set to launch in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and S. Games are played in a “two-on-two” format. Those interested in participating in testing need to fill out a special form.
