Romance, Gameplay Enhancements, and Long-Awaited Fixes: Sixth Major Patch Released for Baldur’s Gate 3

Fantasy RPG Baldur’s Gate 3, developed by Larian Studios, received its sixth major post-release patch two days later than many fans had hoped, on February 16th instead of Valentine’s Day. The update is now available on both PC and consoles.

This patch promised enhanced kissing with romantic partners, with unique animations reflecting each companion’s character now added to these romantic interactions. Developers have included forehead kisses, enhanced animations for characters of varying heights, and adjustments to certain cutscenes at the end of Baldur’s Gate 3 to better represent relationships between the player and their chosen favorite.

In addition to this, idle characters in the camp have new animations— Shadowheart polishing a spear, Halsin carving wood— and the “Valor” mode features additional legendary actions. Furthermore, the transition of companions in the squad has been simplified, the “Shield Bash” reaction action (finally) corrected, and in choosing a speaker in automatically activated dialogues, the game will now prioritize the user’s avatar.

The complete list of all the main changes in the sixth patch is available on the Steam website. The update has been released for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and S. PC and Steam Deck owners will need to free about 150 GB. If space is lacking, it’s suggested to reinstall the game.

In conclusion, the developers assured that this patch will not be the last for Baldur’s Gate 3, as additional enhancements, corrections, and updates are being prepared.
