Xiaomi Unable to Overcome Smartphone Reboot Issue, Assures It is Not a Widespread Problem

Yesterday, Xiaomi smartphone owners encountered a pervasive issue where their devices continuously rebooted. This issue followed an update of the system component SystemUI. A day later, Xiaomi has yet to resolve this issue. The company has advised against attempting to rectify the situation independently, meanwhile, users on the 4PDA forum have found their way of salvaging their locked smartphones.

After an update was rolled out by the company, Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco phone owners noticed their devices rebooting into the recovery mode rather than operating the system normally. This ‘recovery mode’ is usually a solution for software issues, but in this instance, only resulted in further continuous reboots. The only fix is to return the device settings to their factory state, but this results in the loss of all saved data.

Devices running MIUI and HyperOS, are experiencing this issue. It has been reported on several forums and in the Xiaomi community, however, the company’s support team asserts the problem is “not widespread.”

Today, in the official Xiaomi community on VK, a company representative clarified that Xiaomi is well aware of the issue related to the system update, which “caused continuous reboots on a small number of devices.” According to the representative, the troublesome update has already been removed from online sources.

Despite this, Xiaomi hasn’t given specific recommendations for restoring smartphone functionality apart from contacting their support team. “For those who have encountered this problem, we are trying to quickly find a way to restore device functionality. We ask everyone affected to contact support in their region,” the company’s statement reads.

However, on the 4PDA forum, some users have reported being able to fix the problem independently without data loss. But keep in mind that following these instructions is at your own risk and may void your warranty. Meanwhile, an official solution appears to still be some time away.
