Installing Think Outside wireless bluetooth keyboard with iPAQ 4700

Just a quick tip: Make sure you install to the default location (i.e. main memory) and not the iPAQ Filestore or a memory card. If you don’t the drivers will not find the bluetooth stack! If you make the mistake of installing to the wrong place you’re going to be in for a tough time as Active Sync will continue to try and install it to wherever your first installed it – regardless of where you tell it to go. Try the following 1) Remove the drivers from the PDA using Remove Programs in the settings menu 2) Uninstall the software off your PC (very important) 3) Back up your iPAQ 4) Hard reset 5) Reinstall If that doesn’t work, you will also have to uninstall active sync. Very unpleasant.

I mention this here as it’s quite a popular keyboard for bluetooth PDAs like the 4705.

BTW having finally got the think installed, I am also hoping to get a bluetooth headset, but having read other threads out there it seems that I might end up in bags of trouble. Any suggestions on a bluetooth headset that works well and won’t conflict with my bluetooth keyboard????
