NAVIGON, the leading company for mobile GPS navigation software, who according to Canalys holds more than 30 percent of the current market share in the mobile navigation industry in Europe and the Middle East, and Easy PocketNAV, the leading distributor for portable GPS navigation solutions, today announced the availability of OnCourse Navigator 5 (OCN 5), an affordable GPS navigation software for Pocket PC’s.

Available immediately at www.oncoursenavigator.com, the cost for OCN 5 will begin at $79. OCN 5 comes as a DVD set with maps of North America that will fit on a 256 MB, 512 MB and 1 GB memory card and maps of Puerto Rico, Alaska, Europe, and six Persian Gulf countries. OCN 5 is the first GPS navigation software at all that includes maps of Mexico. The European map provides four additional countries including Hungary, Slovenia, Poland, and Greece. These maps are available on the DVD and can be activated at any time for instant access so users no longer have to wait for delivery. Existing customers of OCN 4 receive a free upgrade to OCN 5 together with new maps and new features, saving $139 for existing users.

“Easy PocketNAV.com is committed to bringing U.S. and Canadian consumers the most cost-effective and easy-to-use GPS navigation solution available,” Joe Kee, vice president of Easy PocketNAV.com. “Our relationship with NAVIGON is a natural fit. Their large market share and unique features enable us to provide some of the best GPS products with simple, intuitive operation for beginners and experienced users.”

The new online tool, “My OCN,” allows the user to create a user history that can be accessed and changed at any time. “My OCN” also enables the user to download new map styles and start screens so that the user can customize as he or she chooses.

Other advanced features of the software include SpeedInfo, SpeedWarning and RoadInfo information. The SpeedInfo feature shows users the speed limit and SpeedWarning warns drivers when they are exceeding speed limits with visual and acoustic alerts. For the first time in the history of navigation systems, OCN 5 offers RoadInfo, a feature that enables the user to view highway and interstate signs on their Pocket PC exactly as they appear. Additionally, the unit provides seamless navigation across state borders for all of North America and Europe.
