Blizzard Entertainment, the renowned publisher and developer, unveiled the release date for “Vessel of Hatred,” an addition to its role-playing action game, Diablo IV, during the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase. The announcement also featured a new cinematic trailer.
The first expansion for Diablo IV was officially unveiled in November 2023 during the BlizzCon 2023 opening ceremony, with anticipation building for a late 2024 release of “Vessel of Hatred.”
As disclosed, “Vessel of Hatred” will launch on October 8 on various platforms including PC (Battle.net, Steam,), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S. Outside Russia, pre-orders have begun to roll out, with the add-on itself priced at $40 and the bundle with the main Diablo IV game reduced to $50, sold at $70.
Players will embark on an epic journey into the wilderness of Nahanu in order to confront Neirel, who’s under the malevolent influence of Mephisto, a recognized embodiment of evil. The storyline of “Vessel of Hatred” will further the narrative initiated in the base game.
The release date-revealing cinematic trailer showcases the intense challenges that Neirel will be facing. The audience praised the trailer’s gritty atmosphere, with Vo0Do0o extolling it as having a “Diablo II-style darkness“.
Expected features include a new Spirit Heir class (details on July 18), access to the extensive Nahanu region with the lush jungles of Kurast and the barren plains of Teganze, a mercenary system, a new cooperative PvE mode, and impactful tweaks to the core game.
Even before the release of “Vessel of Hatred,” Diablo IV was updated with patch 1.4.2, introducing pets into the game. These loyal companions continuously follow the player, assisting in collecting valuable resources like gold and materials.
