Asus has announced the launch of a new model of the GT 710 series video card. Notably, the model employs the aging Kepler graphic processor, designed for entry-level PCs and HTPC, which is more than a decade old. The new Asus GT 710 EVO may be seen as an ultra-affordable discrete graphics card.

As reported by Tomshardware, the new Asus GeForce GT 710 EVO is designed in a low-profile form factor and optimized for undemanding systems and media centers. The card features a mere 2 GB of GDDR5 memory and a PCIe Gen 2 interface. The graphic processor is equipped with 192 shader units, eight ROPs, 512KB of level two cache memory, a 64-bit memory bus, and a base frequency of 954 MHz.
