Microsoft Reveals Release Date for Age of Mythology: Retold – First Gameplay Trailer Unveiled

Microsoft has revealed the release date for Age of Mythology: Retold

In the recent Xbox Games Showcase 2024, Microsoft, along with the developers at World’s Edge, showcased the gameplay trailer and announced the release date for Age of Mythology: Retold – a remastered version of the iconic strategy game from 2002. This updated release was first introduced during the celebration of Age of Empires’ 25th anniversary in the autumn of 2022 and was anticipated to launch sometime in 2024.

It has now been established that Age of Mythology: Retold will be available for purchase on September 4th for PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S. The updated game will also join the Game Pass library on the day of its release.

Following the announcement, pre-orders for Age of Mythology: Retold opened on Steam. In the US sector, the game is priced at $30, while the premium edition is valued at $50. The premium edition includes early access up to seven days, two unannounced add-ons, a set of new gods featuring Freyr, and a portrait pack.

The trailer presented during the announcement provides a first glimpse of the Age of Mythology: Retold gameplay and features several accessible in-game deities, including Zeus, Loki, and Isis.

The revamped game promises a campaign consisting of 50 missions, new divine trials that can be completed either alone or in multiplayer mode, 12-player multiplayer with one-on-one or AI battles, and a Russian language text translation.
