Weekly Steam Chart: Tactical Shooter ‘Ready or Not’ Skyrockets 80 Positions Thanks to Discount, Outranking Main Newcomer

SteamDB recently published a list of the games that generated the most revenue on Steam from May 21 to May 28, 2024.

The best newcomer was Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. This adventurous action game by Ninja Theory started off at the tenth position. The sequel received “very positive” reviews (88% based on 2,600 reviews) and hit a peak of 3982 simultaneous users. The most common criticisms were a weak plot and superficial gameplay, which were also expressed by Alexey Likhachev in his review for 3DNews.

Significant changes in the chart include:

  • The Steam Deck portable PC reclaimed the top spot after five weeks.
  • The director’s cut of adventure action game Ghost of Tsushima, last week’s leader, slipped to the second place.
  • The role-playing action Elden Ring, whose sales are spiking as the release of its Shadow of the Erdtree expansion nears, climbed up four spots to the third place.
  • The strategy game Total War: Warhammer III rocketed from the 44th to the fifth place thanks to a 50% discount (expires on May 30).
  • Other popular titles due to the Warhammer Skulls festival sale have also returned to the list, such as Total War: Warhammer II (37th), Total War: Warhammer I (56th), add-on Total War: Warhammer III: Shadows of Change (65th), role-playing game Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader (31st) and shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (52nd).
  • The shooter Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 (21st) entered the chart following the opening of pre-orders (releases on September 9).
  • The tactical shooter Ready or Not demonstrated a remarkable growth, a 40% discount (also ends on May 30) pushed it from the last position of the overall chart (87th in paid-for list) to the seventh.
