Have you tried to transfer the file(s) to a flash card (CF, SD) directly? Or did you “explore” your iPaq using ActiveSync, and transfer that way? I remember a setting that would change the options to disconnect, like manually or “always sync” upon changes, but that was a while ago. Might have something to do with that? My memory is a bit rusty nowadays….

Do you have sufficient room for an additional 30MB’s ? It might be disconnecting due to lack of space.

The setting that David is referring to is under Tools, Options, Schedule in Activesync.

There are issues of USB stability with large file transfers if your version of ActiveSync is less than 3.7.1. Therefore, IF that is the case I strongly recommend upgrading to the latest version 3.8. In addition, the USB driver may need to be updated and/or may have become corrupted. I have attached a set of instructions to both correct the USB driver and update ActiveSync properly; start on step #2.

i have activesync version 3.8. yes i do have a storage card(512mb). yes i am transfering it to the storage card. i just tried installing it via sd reader and it does worth. however i still want this activesync problem solved. I have tried clicking on the explore button and drag dropping large video files before and it would d/c as well. i’ve also tried changing the activesync option on my ipaq. under “when syncing remotely” i choose “maintain connection.” i’ve also “unchecked use mobile schedule to sync with this pc” just to see if that’ll fix anything. didn’t work either.

i’m using a 2.0 usb port. windows xp pro. it’s a fairly updated system. i’m going to see if it’ll work on my laptop.

RE: “changing the activesync option on my ipaq.” & “changing the activesync option on my ipaq.” & “”unchecked use mobile schedule to sync with this pc” > ALL of these have nothing to do with the issue; these are sync settings between OL & PPC The issues you are experiencing are caused typically by one or more of the following: 1. USB driver corruption 2. ActiveSync program corruption 3. Use of a HUB (generally non-powered) 4. Some Firewalls and/or Anti-Virus programs 5. PPC corruption 6. [ruled-out] SD/CF card problems 7. [doubt] Bad cable/cradle

8. Pre 3.7.1 versions of ActiveSync
