Action Engine Mobile Application Platform to Support New Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Software

REDMOND, Wash. — May 10, 2005 — Shattering the mobile usability barrier, Action Engine Corporation, the mobile application platform leader, today announced plans to extend support for the award-winning Action Engine Mobile Application Platform and Brand-n-Go mobile applications pack to the newly launched Windows Mobile 5.0 software. When Action Engine launches a Windows Mobile 5.0 compatible platform in July, it will be the first mobile application platform company to support the creation of applications on devices running Windows Mobile 5.0.

“With Windows Mobile 5.0, Microsoft is enabling partners like Action Engine to create compelling mobile application solutions that drive increased data services revenues for mobile operators and deliver exciting opportunities for their users,” said Chris Hill, group product manager for the Mobile and Embedded Devices Division at Microsoft Corp. “Action Engine continues to be a valued partner whose breakthrough Mobile Application Platform showcases the innovation and flexibility of the Windows Mobile software platform.”

Applications running on the Windows Mobile 5.0 release of the Action Engine Mobile Application Platform will include one-touch integration with a variety of device software, including Microsoft Outlook email, Microsoft MapPoint maps and driving directions, Windows Media Player 10 Mobile and core device functionality, like messaging and telephony. A wireless subscriber using a device running Windows Mobile 5.0 and Action Engine applications can find a restaurant, get driving directions to the restaurant, and email the directions to a friend in only three minutes and with less than 15 keystrokes. This is just one example of how Action Engine technology is delivering mobile content using 80% fewer keystrokes and 20x faster response times than browser-based technology.

“Our development team is committed to bringing the groundbreaking Action Engine Mobile Application Platform to as many devices and mobile operating systems as possible,” said Steve Roberts, chief product officer at Action Engine. “As we expand our portfolio to include support for the latest Java, Symbian, and Windows Mobile software platforms, we will enable mobile operators to provide customers with a fast and easy data services experience on a broad range of devices.”
